About Us

SF City Dish

The City Dish is your guide to the Bay Area’s best restaurant promotions, happy hours, and events. If you're looking for a great place to eat, drink, or play, City Dish will help you find it.

Started in September 2006, the City Dish newsletter has grown to a weekly subscriber base of 8,000 people – and is expected to reach 10,000 in 2009.

In 2007, City Dish was named Best Weekly Online Newsletter by the San Francisco Publicity Club. It has been featured in NBC News, ABC-News, 7x7 Magazine, the San Francisco Business Times, and in the book “The Cheap Bastard’s Guide to San Francisco.” Click here to watch the ABC story.

City Dish also organizes and sponsors special dinners, happy hours, and wine tastings. These events are a great way to discover new restaurants and meet other food and cocktail enthusiasts.

Management

The City Dish was started by Kevin Blum, a Bay Area native (yes, they do exist). Kevin has been a marketing/promotions consultant to some of SF’s top restaurants and bars. Kevin created City Dish to keep his friends in the loop on all the latest and greatest restaurant happenings in town. The City Dish combines Kevin’s passion for fine dining and stiff cocktails, with his predilection for writing long-winded emails to friends.

When Kevin isn’t out dining and drinking, he enjoys playing tennis, swing dancing, watching The Daily Show, and writing pretentious biographies about himself in the third-person. Hopefully you enjoy Kevin’s recommendations and save a few dollars in your pocketbook. Feel free to drop him a line at kevin@sfcitydish.com.
